Pro is the multi-host edition.

Virtainer Free runs one server properly, and it will stay free. Pro is the separate edition for people running a fleet: several hosts managed as one cluster, workloads that survive a machine dying, and the ability to move them between hosts on purpose.

It is not finished, and there is no date on this page because we would rather not invent one. Leave your address and we will write to you when there is something real to try — and, before that, when we need to know whether we are building the right thing.

  • One cluster, one console

    Add a second host and manage the pair as one system, from the same built-in web UI a single host already has. No separate control plane to install and keep alive.

  • Survive a dead host

    When a machine fails, the workloads it was running come back on the hosts that are still standing, without someone rebuilding them by hand at 3am.

  • Move work between machines

    Shift a VM or an AppVM off a host you need to patch, reboot, or retire — and put it back afterwards.

Running one host? Install Virtainer Free — it is the complete single-host appliance, available today, and nothing about Pro is needed to use it.
